Optum (formerly EMIS) has been awarded a place on the new NHS GP IT Futures Tech Innovation Framework.

Optum has been awarded a place on a new NHS Digital framework designed to encourage innovation and new ways of working and to support future modularisation of clinical IT systems.

It will support the next generation of integrated primary care IT and ensure that the digital care services catalogue meets the needs of health care professionals.

The framework centres on the provision of six core functions to primary care; patient information maintenance, appointments management, recording consultations, prescribing, referral management and resource management.

Chief Executive Officer of Opum, said:

We’re really excited to be a part of the Tech Innovation Framework. It strongly aligns to our technology transformation and modernisation strategy, powered by EMIS-X.”

We want to ensure that our NHS customers are benefitting from the latest technology, with advanced features and functions and a modern user experience. Using EMIS-X technology, our solutions will be accessible from any internet-enabled device, which suits more flexible ways of working whilst still ensuring the highest levels of data security.
