Primary care's vital role in transforming clinical research

EMIS has been granted full roll out approval (FRA) from NHS Digital for Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) to be used by primary care clinical services using EMIS Web.

With EPS, healthcare professionals are able to prescribe electronically, helping to streamline processes and reduce reliance on paper. Sending prescriptions directly to pharmacies reduces practice footfall and enables a more efficient, convenient service for patients.

This new functionality help groups of healthcare practitioners working together in hubs across their local areas. With practices affected by closures and the social distancing of both patients and clinicians, this supports flexible, extended access to healthcare services.

EMIS has previously been granted FRA for GP Connect withEMIS Web®. Together the two services enable practices to join together and work in local hubs to provide services to their communities. GP Connect provides a secure HTML view of a patient’s record, regardless of whether they’re registered at that practice, or which clinical system their practice uses.

Integrating EPS and GP Connect into EMIS Web Clinical Services helps to enable safe, efficient and joined-up care, fundamental in managing the current national health crisis.

Our account directors will contact clinical services customers that are eligible to use both EPS and GP Connect over the coming days to discuss next steps.
