Our July roundup is here. This month, we bring you exciting updates involving EMIS in Wales, our new EPR Viewer, our newly announced NUG agenda, and top tips from our clinical director Krishna Vakharia about staying on track in the middle of the year.
Welcome to EMIS, Wales
As part of a primary care migration in Wales, we have now welcomed the first of 200 practices to EMIS Web, joining approximately 180 Welsh GP practices already using the system. The migration will take place over 18 months, and when complete, Wales will be a one-system nation. In the lead up to the first practice going live we’ve been busy planning each stage of implementation, alongside Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW), to give customers a smooth transition to their new system.

Benefits of the EPR Viewer
The Electronic Patient Record Viewer (EPR Viewer) facilitates safe and secure data sharing which grants access to vital primary care information, helping teams across the healthcare sector save time and resource whilst continuing to deliver an excellent service.

Medical Examiners at Royal Stoke University Hospital are using EMIS Web Electronic Patient Record Viewer (EPR Viewer) to view medical records of deceased patients, helping them review and sign off death certificates and saving local GPs having to spend 6 hours a week completing manual and time-consuming administration work.

Clinical Director Ian Wood also reflects on the National Medical Examiners System and the ways in which the EPR Viewer plays a significant part in improving the quality of death certification.

Staying on track
Mid-year is always a good time to review goals and objectives, whether they’re work or home-life orientated. We asked Dr Krishna Vakharia for her tips and tricks to stay on track. She had some interesting things to say about the link between setting wellbeing goals and achieving objectives. Will you make a wellbeing pledge to yourself? With the all-new eMR+ Dashboard, GP surgeries on eMR+ can now track the real-time status of their reports.
Launched early this year, the eMR+ Dashboard is a digital platform that enables eMR+ customers to access real-time information about the status of their patients’ reports.
Not only does this new service help put the power back into the GP surgeries hands when tracking their patients medical reports, it also reduces in-bound chaser calls to the practice and the Medi2data team.
GP surgeries using the eMR+ Dashboard say it has helped them to manage reports whilst also experiencing the benefits of a fully-outsourced service.
