Recruit will be available to users via the portals module in the EMIS Web main menu, this will open the Recruit studies portal.

Earth Day image by Akil Mazumder

Focus on Earth Day

April 22 was World Earth Day and we spent the week sharing some of the projects we have been working on to reduce our impact on the planet as we deliver crucial services. We have also shared those projects here in case you missed them.

What ESG means to our Chief Executive Officer, Andy Thorburn

At EMIS, we are proud of the work we are doing and the commitment of our teams to do the right thing in the right way.

Andy share his thought on the power of that commitment and what we can achieve.

Recycling initiative in the warehouse

Over the last several years we’ve become more environmentally aware in all areas of our business and the recycling initiative in the warehouse is one area where we have made some huge changes.

Read more about how we are minimising our impact to the environment in our warehouse.

Electric Vehicles

We have committed to our vehicle fleet being all electric by 2026 and 56% of our vehicle fleet is already electric or hybrid.

To help make greener lifestyles more affordable for our teams we introduced an electric vehicle scheme at the end of last year. Individuals can now order via our salary sacrifice scheme to make their personal goals of greener lifestyles more affordable. We have already had our first delivery and it's regularly seen at our Fulford Grange office using the newly installed electric charging points.

Read more about the electric vehicle scheme here.

A Carbon Neutral Marketing Team

Inspired by the company’s wider approach to reducing our environmental impact, the Group Marketing team have set itself a challenge to become the first carbon neutral team in the business.

"I’m really passionate about finding ways to tackle the climate emergency and make sustainable choices in my personal life and in my community, and so I’m thrilled that I’m able to lead this project for the Marketing team, and be able to make a positive impact in my professional life as well." Michaella Biscomb, our Head of Customer Communications.

Ecologi and us

On world earth day last year, we launched our initiative to plant trees for each new member of staff joining us. This year we share our progress with our partner Ecologi, and how we are expanding the initiative this year and beyond.

Max Phillips from Ecologi has this to say about our partnership:
"EMIS are a fantastic partner to work with. They understand the nuance of prioritising internal emissions reductions, whilst still helping fund climate action externally. We've been continually impressed by the passion of their team for finding more sustainable solutions."

Product updates

Primary care

EMIS Web

  • Information Leaflets - new enhancements will continue to be activated at organisations with EMIS Web 9.14.1 or above for England and other regions.

A series of improvements have made to Patient Access Connect to transform it into a new ‘Local Services’ platform. The Local Services functionality was released in EMIS Web 9.14.1 and uses EMIS-X technology to make it even easier to implement local referral pathways and pave the way for future enhancements and capabilities.

We've completed a successful pilot programme and have now started activating this new platform for all our Patient Access Connect customers which is due for completion by the end of May.

You don't need to take any action for this change to take effect. Once the existing Patient Access Connect button will be replaced by a new Local Services icon which will take you through to a new dashboard.
