As the clocks go back and the winter months set in, it's time to consider flu season and the support your practice needs. October also brings news of the EPS Bulk Signing rollout and the success of Folkestone, Hythe & Rural PCN who've been shortlisted for a HSJ award.

Are you ready for the flu season?

With the colder months almost upon us, we’ve brought together our key guidance and resources to help support our primary care customers this flu season.

There are a number of tools within EMIS Web that can support you during this period, including helping with managing clinics and appointments, identifying and inviting patients and don’t forget our Patient Access flu eligibility checker.

The resources page also contains further information on EMIS partner solutions such as Surgery Connect (to help manage telephone traffic), Hero Health (an automated booking solution) and Docmail (helps streamline bulk mailings).

Find out how EMIS are supporting practices this flu season.

EPS Bulk signing roll-out

We're pleased to inform you that the roll out of the new EPS Bulk Signing functionality for all our GP England practices has now completed. This enables 3,784 practices to save time and improve productivity.

The new functionality in Medicine Management gives clinicians the option to bulk sign eligible EPS tasks. This has been designed with clinical safety and best practice in mind, working closely with pilot users to refine the functionality and create a clinically safe solution with approval from NHS England; this will significantly speed up the process of completing Awaiting Signing tasks.

We have further EPS Bulk Signing enhancements on our roadmap, including being able to bulk sign patient requested items from the “Request with Queries” folder. We'll keep users informed as these developments progress and become available.

Folkestone, Hythe and Rural Primary Care Network shortlisted for HSJ Award

Congratulations to the team at Folkstone, Hythe and Rural (FH&R) Primary Care Network who’ve been shortlisted in the Primary and Community Care Innovation category at this years’ HSJ Awards, for their outstanding PCN Hub operating model.

The team at FH&R have worked extremely hard to bring innovation and change to their organisation, and now NHS England will be using their model as a blueprint to help colleagues in other PCNs with their operations, and boost appointment capacity through federated delivery of services.

We worked closely with FH&R to develop our EMIS Web PCN Hub, which the team use to support their innovative operating model.

Resource Publisher: GP England roll-out now complete

We would like to remind you of the recently completed roll-out of Resource Publisher to our GP England Practices.

Over 4,200 organisations are already using Resource Publisher and we're now looking to activate more clinical service organisations including PCNs and Federations, as well as a handful of practices who weren't activated as part of the initial roll-out.

Work will continue to optimise Resource Publisher and improve how the module functions and performs. We'll be sharing updates on the EMIS Web Project Updates page on EMIS Now.
