Supporting summer consultations: Sunshine and Skin Cancer
As we move into the summer months, clinicians are likely to see an increase in consultations related to sun exposure and skin changes. The FourteenFish® Clinical Library provides educational resources to healthcare professionals, to promote efficient and focused learning. Our library currently hosts over 50 modules dedicated to streamlining the process of completing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and maintaining your clinical knowledge, with a range of topics relevant to both seasonality and real-world events. This month we focus on the summer module: Sunshine and Skin Cancer, designed to support your decision-making in General Practice.
The module includes:
- Common presentations linked to sun exposure
- Guidance on assessing suspicious skin lesions
- When to reassure, when to refer
- Prevention advice and patient education tips

That’s when Digital Gateway was introduced and started making a real difference.
By scanning a QR code, patients now complete a short form before their consultation with a pharmacist, speeding up checks and streamlining triage.

Digital Gateway has basically cut the consultation time by half. It’s helped with queues, waiting times, and consultation times—we absolutely love it.
