EMIS took part in the national Learning at Work Week earlier this month. For the second year running EMIS has taken part in the scheme to support colleagues’ learning and development opportunities.
Learning at Work Week at EMIS is generously run by EMIS employees to cover all types of knowledge; from products and systems to skills and behaviours. Some exciting topics covered during the week are:
- Setting boundaries: How to say no
- A deep dive into an internal system
- Understanding and taking part in communities of practice
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I)
- Sustainability and what it means for you
Our Learning at Work Week is run as a virtual event, as we are a mainly working-from-home business with offices in the UK and India. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend as many sessions as they want throughout the week and every session is recorded for colleagues to also watch in their own time.
Karen Bailey, Learning and Development Manager at EMIS said: “It makes me proud seeing everyone engage with their own learning and get involved. It really shows that EMIS has a strong learning culture where everyone is working towards growing and developing.
"Encouraging people to get involved in all the learning opportunities, whether delivering a session or taking part, really shows how we are collaborate at EMIS.
I am very grateful to all the colleagues who get involved, as it would not be as successful without them. Putting yourself out there to learn or share knowledge truly improves how we work together.
“My highlight from the week was seeing a range of colleagues from across the business write and deliver such a diverse selection of training events. For example, we were inspired by our Principal Agile Coach, David, on how to have boundaries at work, and our Head of Pharmacy Product, Simon, helped us to understand our range of products and how to collaborate better.
“I particularly enjoyed the ED&I session which highlighted how we all can get involved to make EMIS more inclusive.”
