Step into summer, as we bring you our roundup of updates from the month of June. Exciting updates involving both EMIS-X and Recruit, roll-out of the enhanced MIG Shared Record Viewer and our EPS development work within Wales.

EMIS-X: Monthly updates

In the last newsletter we discussed a recent update to EMIS-X, which introduced allergies within the patient banner, there's now a short explainer video on this which can be viewed here.

Our next release will be a view of consultations, which can be accessed from the Clinical View menu in EMIS-X. The new view provides you with a read-only view of all a patients’ previous consultations..

A short explainer video can be viewed here and there's further information on EMIS Now.

Further planned updates include a document search function, enhanced navigation with ‘single click’ routes between screens and the ability to use EMIS-X instant messaging when multiple EMIS Web instances are open.

This is part of our continuing work to enhnce EMIS-X, so be sure to look out for further monthly updates this summer to ensure you’re getting the most out of the new functionality.

Recruit: New EMIS-X Feature Now Live!

Recruit has now moved from EMIS Web to EMIS-X, providing an improved user experience and making it easier for practices to support clinical research.

Recruit is a free tool and enables practices to easily identify and connect with patients eligible to take part in clinical trials in their area. So why not join over 1,000 practices who have already activated Recruit in EMIS Web, to ensure you can automatically access Recruit in EMIS-X.

"It’s great that we can leverage our next generation interface with the performance capability we have in EMIS-X. By bringing Recruit into EMIS-X, we're enabling clinical teams to run Recruit whilst navigating around the clinical record and make taking part in research even easier."

EMIS approved for EPS development work in Wales

Digital Health and Care Wales has selected us as a technology partner to deliver the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) for Wales through our patient medication record (PMR) system ProScript Connect.

The introduction of EPS across Wales will play a vital role in modernising healthcare. Patients will soon be able to collect prescriptions from their nominated pharmacy without needing a paper script, ensuring a safer and more efficient dispensing process.

Read the full blog here.

“Collaboration is absolutely key to successful delivery, so we are very pleased to work in partnership with EMIS to enable electronic prescribing in Wales and we welcome them as the latest pharmacy system supplier to reach this stage.”

Introducing the enhanced MIG Shared Record Viewer (SRV)

The enhanced MIG Shared Record Viewer (SRV) has successfully roll-out. This secure, browser-based portal offers healthcare professionals instant access to the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG), allowing them to search for patients and access their medical records without needing an existing clinical system.

The SRV provides comprehensive access to all MIG specialist datasets, including the Detailed Care Record. This feature displays ten tabs of real-time information from a patient's GP record, ensuring that healthcare professionals have the most complete and up-to-date information to provide the best possible care.

You can find out more about SRV and available MIG specialist datasets here.
