Effective practice management is vital to better handle how you manage documents, workflow, and communication process whilst eliminating time-consuming admin tasks. Using a range of technologies that work together, you can reduce everyday pressures and improve the patient experience.

St Lukes Medical Practice

Optum (formerly EMIS) has a long history of interoperability with over 100 partners now accredited to the partner programme, below are some of our partner products designed to improve patient experience, reduce clinical and administrative burden, to deliver better efficiencies.

Communication from anywhere

Essential to effective practice management is communication, a good communications system provides patients with easy access to their GP Practice, along with collaborative tools that maximise staff efficiency by reducing time spent on admin and connecting with patients.

An omnichannel approach with ‘everything is under one roof’ - telephony, video, SMS, clinical systems, remote working - all integrated seamlessly, will best serve the needs of patients, practitioners, staff and allow managers to address the digital ambitions of the NHS. Surgery Connect enables efficiencies at practices whilst helping managers reduce and more easily manage costs. This solution guarantees more efficient practice management, and scalability supports growth across PCNs, GP Federations and CCGs while delivering the integrated care plan.

Surgery Connect also supports home-working and remote consultations with patients, allowing your GPs and practice staff to work from anywhere to make outbound and receive inbound calls, send SMS and switch to video calls (with photo-capture). As it's integrated with EMIS Web® and SystmOne, it reduces the need for your staff to make calls from mobiles, preventing expensive phone bills and reducing dialling errors.

Managing your workforce

Efficient workforce management is important to running a successful practice, and with solutions such as My Locum Manager (MLM) you can build continuity and reliable care for your patients. MLM is an interoperable, end-to-end workforce solution enabling general practice to optimise EMIS Web in order to manage a flexible, multi-skilled workforce of both locum and permanent staff, that will increase clinical capacity without paying large agency fees.

MLM creates time and costs savings associated with managing staff sourcing. The secure solution is designed to improve patient experience, reduce clinical and administrative burden, and deliver better efficiencies.

Digitising clinical forms

With Syml Connect, clinical staff can continue to engage and monitor patients and their conditions remotely, saving time whilst prioritising those who need help faster. Syml Patient+ enables patients to complete digital questionnaires whilst visiting their practices or remotely before attending a consultation.

Syml_Dynaforms+  is a complete solution for clinicians to use during home visits to support elderly care or the management of chronic conditions. This solution provides practices with secure access to historical patient records offline, with full consultation input, saving significant time and resources.
