It is estimated that around 1.4 million people in England are living with Atrial Fibrillation (AF). NICE states that AF management needs to be improved, with Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) made available to patients. But prescribing DOACs is complex, with studies showing dosing errors of 25% or more.

Our AF Advisor tool, embedded within EMIS Web makes prescribing DOACs easier, quicker and most importantly, safer. The tool uses sophisticated algorithms to interrogate patient records, providing guidance at the point of care.

When using AF Advisor you’ll receive an alert in EMIS Web when treating a patient with AF. The alert presents you with calculated risk scores for bleeding and stroke, and a list of appropriate anticoagulants alongside calculated prescribing thresholds.
