Alongside the launch of our environmental targets which inform the recently established ESG strategy and the ongoing campaigns from our Green Champions, we were excited to add our new Electric Vehicle (EV) Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme to our green agenda too!
I am proud to have launched our EV car scheme in 2021 alongside our car leasing partner, Zenith. We developed a brand new EV scheme that would complement our overall benefits offering, enhance our approach to colleague engagement by providing ways in which to lead a greener lifestyle, and support our overall environmental targets too. I am really pleased with the uptake of the scheme I will too be looking joining the scheme soon. I am passionate about the work we do and our strategy for reducing our CO2 emissions and our goal to be net zero.
To implement the car salary sacrifice scheme is a big step towards reducing our carbon footprint as it helps incentivise over 1000 employees to drive electric cars and breaks down traditional barriers by offering an affordable way of leasing a car too.
After the first two weeks of the scheme’s launch, we had nine vehicle orders and 73 quotes run on the scheme.
Alongside this scheme, we are also making enhancements to our office locations to support colleagues in making greener choices. Colleagues with electric cars can now charge their cars whilst they are working at our two Leeds-based offices after we installed 12 electric charging points, six at each site.
