Acquisition of Healthcare Gateway
We're delighted to announce that EMIS Group has acquired Healthcare Gateway (HGL).
Founded in 2010, HGL are specialists in medical interoperability through a secure middleware technology known as MIG (Medical Interoperability Gateway). MIG connects over 4,500 health and social care organisations across the UK including NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Systems with real-time patient information.
The existing strong working relationship between EMIS Group and HGL means we already have a strong foundation to build on and we look forward to working with the team.
FourteenFish launches new Education app
FourteenFish have just released their new Education app for iOS and Android. You can access all the FourteenFish Education resources through the app and download content to watch offline.
Their Clinical Library consists of short, 10–20-minute updates on clinical topics so you can quickly update with engaging practical video learning. Of course, any learning can easily be captured into your FourteenFish appraisal toolkit.

Online Consult/Video Consult Data Collection
NHS Digital is collecting data from online and video consultation suppliers of general practices to standardise the collection and provide information to local commissioners and practices.
The Online Consult/Video Consult Data Collection feature will provide weekly report of all Online Consult / Video Consult mandatory data items to EMIS BI team as per NHS guidelines.
The data collection process runs weekly, this is automated and will come directly from online and video consultation system suppliers. This approach will replace the manual daily submission method. Data from this collection will be shared with NHS England.
Assistant - pilot is now live
Phase one of the Assistant pilot successfully launched in November. Assistant is a new companion app to EMIS Web. Launched from EMIS Web, the app can be used for instant messaging, to show useful clinical information, and to view the latest news and updates with single sign-on to EMIS Now content.
