Activate Recruit today for free
Supporting vital clinical research
We're making it simple for your practice to get involved in clinical research with our free Recruit tool, embedded in EMIS Web. Recruit uses advanced analytics and algorithms powered by EMIS-X to enable you to identify and contact patients in your area who are eligible to take part in clinical trials.
Not only does clinical research help to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care, but it can generate revenue for your practice, as you'll receive automatic payments for all eligible patients that consent to share their contact details with the research organisation.
Activating Recruit only takes a few minutes, and we’ve outlined the simple steps to get you started. Search KB0076213 on EMIS Now to find out more.
Empowering your patients
We understand that patients may have questions when it comes to being involved in clinical trials. That’s why we’ve put together an FAQ on our patient.info site to help your patients to better understand what’s involved and make an informed decision about taking part. You can find this FAQ here.
We’ve also created a poster and screen animation for you to download via EMIS Now to help point patients to this resource, available here.

We understand that data plays a vital role for our customers, and we're pleased to be launching a brand-new solution to support IQ extracts. Explorer Insights, part of the EMIS-X Analytics suite, will replace the previous service and use the latest technology to improve speed, reliability and scalability.
Please contact your account director to understand your options for moving forward and the support available, or check EMIS Now for the latest information on this transition.
GPAD extracts for PCN hubs and federations
Over recent months we've been working with NHS England to ensure that PCN and federation data is included in the GP Appointment Data (GPAD) weekly extract. This is in line with the PCN Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES). We're pleased to share that this was enabled from Monday 20 March, and since then we've made it easier for PCNs and practices to provide appointment data and support NHS England in creating a more accurate picture of the number of the appointments carried out and how hard general practice is working.
To enable the automatic collection of data from your PCN or Federation, NHS England request that you complete the participation form below to give permission for your data to be extracted: GP appointments data (GPAD) - PCN Participation
EPS Bulk Signing
You can now save valuable time with bulk signing EPS tasks, to speed up the process of completing Awaiting Signing tasks in Medicines Management. We'll begin piloting the functionality in April, before activating for all organisations. You can find out how the functionality works and watch a demo video here.
QTools
QTools will remain integrated in EMIS Web until June 2024 following changes made by NHS England, ClinRisk and the MHRA. Find out more about the decision on EMIS Now.
The warning message in EMIS Web will be removed from v.9.20.6.

To improve performance, memory management and security, we're updating EMIS Web to enable it to use the additional capabilities of Windows 64-Bit operating system and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.
