Our August newsletter reflects on the great success of our EMIS-X roadshow, and includes access to the full event video and further resources on the event and associated products. We also hear from a number of partners, including the latest partner roundtable discussing the move to cloud telephony and how that will impact cross-organisational working in PCNs.

Recap: EMIS-X: Innovation through evolution

To mark the success of our EMIS-X: Innovation through evolution events this summer we've released a celebration video which highlights the very best moments from the roadshows. You’ll hear from EMIS staff as to why connecting with our customers is so important, as well as comments from our delegates themselves. We hope it’s a useful watch for those who didn’t attend and a positive reminder for those who did.

Useful resources

We've also created a useful resources page as a companion to the video, this contains recordings of some of the key sessions as well as downloads of our brochures and presentation slides. You’ll also find more information on associated products such as Pathway, Recruit and Local Services, which are powered by EMIS-X technology and available now. In addition, more information is available on our analytics tool APEX and our e-learning platform EMIS Academy which is now completely FREE of charge.

Optimising patient care with EMIS Web in Wales - Q&A session

As an extension to our July webinar sessions ‘Optimising patient care with EMIS Web in Wales,’ we'll be sending out an email invitation to GP practices in Wales for our upcoming EMIS Web Q&A on Thursday 5 October, 10am-12pm. We do encourage you to submit your questions before the session, to ensure we have enough time to answer them (details on how to do that will be covered in the email).

In the meantime, you can view the recording of the previous session here, along with the questions and answers from the webinars in July.

Partner updates

Partner roundtable: how will the move to cloud telephony impact cross organisational working within a PCN?

In light of recent plans surrounding patient access, it’s now more important than ever that PCNs have the right digital solutions in place to handle patient calls quickly and efficiently.

As more PCNs move away from traditional analogue telephony systems, we want to understand how a transition to cloud telephony might improve collaborative working across a PCN – helping to improve patient access.

In our most recent partner roundtable, we asked two EMIS cloud telephony partners, babblevoice and X-On, ‘how will the move to cloud telephony impact cross organisational working within a PCN?’.

Saving pharmacy time with interoperability between MED e-care and ProScript Connect

Our partner, MED e-care, is an eMAR solution that gives pharmacists full control over how medications are ordered, managed, and disposed of. By using MED e-care, pharmacies are easily able to reduce medication waste and provide a robust audit trail, helping to determine patient demand and the necessary required stock levels.

In 2019 MED e-care started working with Total Medcare, a pharmacy contractor that provides standalone pharmacy services to the care sector. In this case study, we hear how the Total Medcare team - who already used ProScript Connect as their dispensing solution – transformed their dispensary workflow via a seamless integration with MED e-care.

How babblevoice is supporting social prescribing

The recently published NHS England GP Access Plan places a key focus on increasing ‘self-directed care’ for patients. In response, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) are developing their role in connecting people to community-based services.

This blog by our partner, babblevoice, explores how a cloud telephony solution - alongside an integration with EMIS Web - can support social prescribing by facilitating enhanced connectivity between multi-disciplinary teams and patients.

Rapid Health: a cure to the 8am rush?

The 8am rush is a chronic problem faced by primary care practices. Rapid Health – an EMIS partner - and their enhanced triage system, Smart Triage, are helping GP practices solve this ongoing issue by giving patients the power of self-service. From assessing symptoms to facilitating self-booking appointments, Smart Triage safely navigates patients to the most appropriate care setting, without input from practice staff.

In this article, Manor Court Surgery discuss how – by implementing Smart Triage alongside EMIS Web – they've been able to improve workflows, save time and manage peak call times effectively.
