Rx Systems celebrates growth with 4500th ProScript customer

Pharmacy software and services company Rx Systems has announced its 4,500th customer going live with the ProScript® dispensary management system - making ProScript the single most widely used community pharmacy software in the UK.

The milestone customer is the Day Lewis Pharmacy at Ryde on the Isle of Wight, which switched to ProScript following a change in ownership from Siddys Pharmacy.

The transfer of systems was one of the first to involve a pharmacy already active with EPS R2, which has been rolled out across the whole of the Isle of Wight.

Carmel Conroy, pharmacist at Day Lewis, said the transfer was seamless. Just a week after switching systems, she and her team faced the task of dispensing for 30 patients at a local nursing home. "It was a big challenge, but we were able to work out the procedure and complete dispensing on time, which shows just how accessible the ProScript system is," she commented.

Ms Conroy said the system's advanced features were already improving dispensing. "ProScript provides a number of features that make the dispensing process much easier to manage, such as retrieving the balance of a prescription owing to the patient, and printing of repeat requests for patients.

"We also like the nomination procedure for EPS Release 2, which is very accessible. And the colour-coded screens help with identifying key information on patients with particular conditions and with repeat management items."

She also paid tribute to the Rx Systems team for ensuring a smooth and hassle-free installation. "They installed the new system after we finished work one evening, and arrived the following day with further back up to ensure we had no problems."

Rx Systems Managing Director Ian Taylor said: "We are delighted to welcome this new customer - and to mark such an important milestone.

"We are continually updating the system to keep our users at the forefront of the latest developments in community pharmacy - protecting and developing their businesses for the future.

"Our work with EMIS Group, which has recently enabled a successful pilot to link GPs and pharmacists in East London, gives us more power to achieve our ultimate aim of assisting pharmacy to take on an enhanced role in the care of patients.

Raymond Barclay, Head of Sales & Marketing at Day Lewis plc said: "The team at Rx Systems was very helpful throughout the implementation process. They were very responsive and helped us understand how to gain the most out of ProScript."
