This means that EMIS Web users can now activate GP Connect Access Record: HTML if they are in a region that has been setup by NHS Digital. Similarly they can now request setup directly with NHS Digital.
GP Connect supports better clinical care by opening up information and data held within GP practice IT systems for use across all health and social care. The GP Connect vision will be achieved by standardising integration and simplifying the operating model for:
- HTML view of a GP record
- Appointment booking into GP practices
- Structured data provision of elements of the GP record (e.g. medications and allergies).
Michelle McDermott, Programme Manager at NHS Digital said: “This marks an important milestone in moving forward with the interoperability work across primary care and beyond. GP Connect Access Record: HTML is the foundation for allowing organisations to work together with patient information flowing seamlessly at the point of care.”
Suzy Foster, CEO EMIS Health, said: “We’re delighted to achieve this milestone for GP Connect. We are passionately committed to the seamless and secure exchange of data between systems for the good of UK healthcare.”
