A statement to the City issued by EMIS Group plc today (22 January 2014) shows that, at 31 December 2013:
- 3,327 GP practices were live with EMIS Web, an increase of 1,692 practices during the year
- 74% of all EMIS GP users are now using the EMIS Web system.
It also explained that use of EMIS Web outside primary care is continuing to grow, with new contracts in the community, children's and mental health arena including projects with Bromley, Glasgow, and East London Urgent Care Centre.
2014 will see the launch of new functionality to link community pharmacies and GP practices. The Medicines Manager software, which enables the direct exchange of information between GPs and pharmacists, was successfully piloted in 2013 and will be rolled out nationally.
The trading statement also announced that progress is being made with the renewal of the English GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) Framework, which is due to be concluded by 31 March 2014.
Chris Spencer, Chief Executive of EMIS Group, said: “The ongoing roll out of EMIS Web is proceeding as planned while, within community, child and mental health, we are encouraged by the increased level of bid activity we have seen.
“The opportunity to better link GPs and pharmacists with the rollout of the Medicines Manager in 2014 is an exciting one, supporting the Group’s aim of enabling the secure sharing of information to support better and more efficient healthcare services.”
