EMIS Health and Allscripts have developed a first of type interface at Royal Bolton NHS Foundation Trust which joins up their Allscripts Sunrise product and EMIS Health’s Hospital Pharmacy to send prescriptions and medication supply requests. In the session you will hear about the benefits and challenges from all parties including NHS Digital, as well as detailed lessons learnt from both a supplier and customer perspective.
James Hodgin, Solution Director, EMEA
Joining Allscripts in 2013, James has experience in many areas of the business including implementation, sales and solutions. Starting his role as Head of Solutions in June 2018, James has responsibility for ensuring the Allscripts solution portfolio meetings to the needs of the market and clients in the UK.
James has a background in Pharmacy, working in the NHS and several major solution providers of medicines management solutions. Joining iSoft in 2009, worked as a project manager and in solution management roles for new market entry systems. James has remained passionate about medicines management throughout his career and was actively involved in the first of type deployment of a full scope interface between the Allscripts Sunrise EPR and the EMIS pharmacy solution. The goal is to enhance the digital maturity of our joint clients, improve efficiency and ultimately improve patient care.
Max Hughes, Senior Clinical Pharmacist for Electronic Prescribing, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust
Max is the lead pharmacist for EPMA at Royal Bolton. Interested in how digitalisation can increase the safety and efficiency of our process, and also how data sharing and interoperability can reduce both the duplication of work and reduce errors.
Lauren Latham, Head of Acute (Planned) Products, EMIS Health
Lauren joined EMIS Health in 2014 and is passionate about digital health and ultimately driven by making a difference through creating market leading products and solutions. She has a varied background in implementation, project management and product management and now leads our Acute Product Portfolio and Product Management division. With a background in pharmacy, she is passionate about joining up healthcare with a special interest in medicines interoperability. She is extremely proud that her team were able to start the journey to join up medicines by delivering a first of type interface between Allscripts Sunrise and EMIS Hospital Pharmacy.
Steve McEwan, Product Manager - Hospital Pharmacy, EMIS Health
Steve joined Ascribe/EMIS Health in 2000 from the NHS, where he was an experienced pharmacist managing clinical and aseptic services. His primary role has been customer focused project and programme management until the last 18 months when he moved into the Product team responsible for designing and delivering the software.
