The final newsletter of 2021

In our final newsletter of the year, we're wrapping up our 2021 highlights as well as taking a look at an exciting new feature coming to EMIS Web and celebrating the collaborations between healthcare and industry.

Our 2021 highlights

2021 was a busy year for us all. We kicked off the year celebrating the success and achievements of our partners and the impact their services have on our customers and their patients, with our first EMIS Partner of the Year awards. The awards centered around our EMIS Customer Pillars as well as an additional Covid customer champion, chosen by Vanessa Young on behalf of the NUG. Congratulations once again to our winners:

We also held out first EMIS Live Pharmacy and Community Pharmacy Awards, focusing on the adaptation by pharmacy teams to increased digital technology. You can watch back all sessions and find out more about our award winners. Well done to our winners Murrays Chemist & Travel Clinic, Lewis Grove Pharmacy, Jhoots Pharmacy and Medipharmacy Limited!

In August we launched our new online learning platform, EMIS Academy. With 24/7 access to training, it puts the power of learning into your hands, allowing you to learn at your own pace at any time, from anywhere. Watch this animation to find out more.

This month we also looked back one year on from the first Covid-19 vaccination and how we've since helped to power and record more than 75 million vaccinations in England. We want to thank all the incredible NHS staff and volunteers for leading the largest vaccination programme on record. Read the full story here

Finally we wrapped up the year with EMIS Live Industry, celebrating the collaborations between healthcare and industry that are improving patient outcomes. If you missed our three days of exciting webinars and product previews, catch up on the full recordings here

Improving health through data insights

This month Shaun O’Hanlon, chief medical officer, discussed how data insights are improving the health of our nation. Insights will be key to relieving the pressure on the NHS and improving patient outcomes in the future. Coming soon to EMIS Web

This tool allows you to easily identify and manage research projects as part of your daily workflow. Pro Delivery Manager now live

We're excited to partner with Pro Delivery Manager (PDM) to be able to provide a simple way for pharmacies to make those important deliveries to their patients. You can use the PDM Web application or the PDM mobile app to scan the ProScript Connect 2D barcodes to, add patients, find patients and create new deliveries. Find out more here

Moving to provider pays

From April 2022, the existing commissioning or payment model will change as NHS England (NHSE) will pass the cost of IT licences to the provider i.e. community pharmacies. At that point, community pharmacies will be able to choose providers they feel will deliver them with the right solution to manage the CPCS service. PharmOutcomes Direct provides a simple and secure way for you to sign up to PharmOutcomes for CPCS. Watch the video below to find out more.

Contribute to QResearch

QResearch is an ethical database of anonymised health records for medical research from GP practices in the UK. It is run as a not-for-profit collaboration between ourselves and the University of Oxford. Our aim is to better increase the UK coverage to include diverse populations whose patients have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are inviting organisations to contribute to this anonymised health record database by activating the QResearch data sharing agreement in EMIS Web.

Helping children study remotely with Transforming Lives for Good

When the pandemic first arose in early 2020, many children were left without IT access due to school closures. We're proud to have been able to donate over 1000 items of IT equipment to children's charity, Transforming Lives for Good to enable students to work at home. Find out more

Why use iGPR?

Annette O’Conor of Park Road Surgery shared with us why she uses iGPR to process subject access requests, insurance reports and screening records for patient online access. She says “This software is revolutionary - iGPR are the only redaction company with a product specific to Primary Care which is also connected to over 30 insurers, so insurance reports arrive electronically.

They’ve also recently launched their Facebook Community group. It means they are super responsive, providing support whenever needed 24/7.  I would encourage all users of iGPR to join the group as it’s useful for finding out tips and tricks and getting advice from colleagues working at other Practices.”

If you're already a user of iGPR, join the Facebook Community group.
