We recently released new functionality within our Online Consult solution to make it quick and easy to schedule form availability. Scheduler brings you much more than just ‘on/off’ functionality, with features designed to save you time and improve clinical safety. World Heart Day - Wednesday 29 September
In celebration of World Heart Day, Technomed share how their ECG On-Demand solution allows patients to undergo heart monitoring from home through the use of self-fit kits. As well as reducing the number of hospital visits, the service - which integrates with EMIS Web - has reduced diagnosis times to below pre COVID-19 service delivery times and the easy, effective process has resulted in an enviably low 2.6% re-test rate. Flu season 2021 extract
The Flu Season 2021 extract is now live and information from organisations has been extracting to NHS Digital since 1 September 2021. For the first time, the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programme Enhanced Service Specification 2021/22 enables practices to vaccinate specific patients that are not registered with the practice, namely:
- Front-line health and social care staff employed by a registered residential care or nursing home, or a voluntary managed hospice provider; and
- Those living in: long-stay facilities; nursing homes; other long-stay health or social care facilities; or a housebound patients.

- Flu vaccine eligibility checker 2021 is now live, a questionnaire that helps people understand their eligibility for free vaccine and people who are not eligible are sign posted toward private flu vaccines
- A platform upgrade and migration for Vidyo which is used for video calling between Patient Access and clinician side.
- User experience enhancements within Patient Access apps including accessibility improvements, account section improvements and animation of medication status tracker.
- Combined Native apps release (Phased roll out due shortly): Login prompt for medication assistant, get health advice form availability, Vidyo upgrade and migration.
Symphony 3.1 will be released shortly. This release will include enhancements in security and encryption to compliment the Symphony version 3 package.
Transfer of Care (FHIR eDischarge summary)
Providing Symphony with the ability to send the NHS FHIR standard Emergency Care eDischarge Summary. This is available now and EMIS are currently working with first of type adopters.
- Web Viewer enhancements – to support single sign on with active directory.
- GP Documents – enhancement to our successful GP Record viewer, the ability to see GP documents held in the GP record, this is a first of type for EMIS and NHS-D.

New developments for Clinical Services Hub are still in progress, with a release targeted for this month.
The Department for Health have extended the current SSP endorsement workaround in place until next year. Initially this workaround was due to end in September 2021, with PSC 1.26.2 delivering the new accredited functionality to claim the endorsements. PSC 1.26.2 will be rolled out in October allowing Pharmacies to migrate to the new functionality in PSC at their convenience. Full details of these changes have been shared.
