Transforming patient consent with our new partner Concentric Health
We're delighted to announce our exclusive partnership with Concentric Health to scale-up Concentric’s market-leading digital consent application and expand our portfolio of solutions supporting acute and secondary care settings.
Already used at a number of NHS trusts, Concentric's innovative solution digitally transforms the paper process of giving consent prior to an operation or treatment, and enables remote consent pathways. NHS Trusts can enhance the patient and clinician experience through accessible, personalised and shared decisions, as well as dramatically improve pre-surgical procedures through remote paperless pathways and reducing day-of-surgery delays. Find out more about Concentric.

How a joined-up COVID-19 response can help tackle the care deficit
There is no doubt that the NHS has excelled in the face of the COVID pandemic, but the first wave caused a care deficit that they're still trying to make up.
In December Senior clinical director, Ian Bailey and clinical director, Edward Clode-Baker talked to Digital Health about how by working together, with the right technology, we can ensure that every patient is getting the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

EMIS and Elemental enhance reporting for social prescribing
Earlier this month HTN reported on how our partnership with Elemental is helping to take social prescribing to the next level. The integration aims to remove any barriers of receiving information back after a referral and to support an improved picture of the social prescribing referral for the patient.

Product updates
EMIS–X Document Manager
EMIS-X Document Manager, the first clinical application to be introduced on our EMIS-X platform, is currently undergoing NHS Digital assurance. The product is getting ready to go into pilot with full release later this year.
EMIS Web
Auto-filing flu vaccine codes
In EMIS Web 9.10 we introduced an enhancement to auto-file a FHIR Digital Medicine message for a flu vaccine administered by a pharmacy into the patient's record.
Patient Access event notifications
Notifications can now be sent directly from EMIS Web in to Patient Access, making it easier for patients to be notified of things like appointment booking without patients needing to log into the app.
Enhancements and fixes
We've improved several aspects of the system and resolved a number issues. For more information on all of these, please see EMIS Now.
Collaboration with our partner system Docman
We've been working closely with Advanced (Docman) to develop a number of enhancements around unfiled documents and online visibility. For full details, please see EMIS Now.
EMIS PCS
We've launched a new COVID-19 vaccination template for EMIS PCS practices which is available from the EMIS Repository folder. We're continuing to work with NSS on fortnightly shielding patient list updates and we're working with partner suppliers to import COVID-19 vaccine data from Scottish national systems.
Online Consult
Image upload functionality enabled
We've introduced functionality to enable patients to upload images as part of our Online Consult solution. This is available to patients submitting forms through the web-based version of Online Consult and will soon also be available to patients submitting forms through Patient Access. This change will allow patients using the service to supplement the information they provide to clinicians with images, improving the speed and accuracy of diagnoses. Image upload has currently been enabled on 10 forms, with more to come, each of which provide a full explanation for patients along with informed consent to store the image against their patient record.
New long term conditions health check forms added
We’ve introduced a series of new forms for reviews of a variety of long term conditions, covering asthma, COPD, cardiovascular health and diabetes. The cardiovascular health form includes cardiovascular health checks, hypertension, heart disease, stroke and TIA, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The diabetes form covers both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
All forms have been clinically authored and peer reviewed, and sync with QOF and practice reporting requirements. They can be used to perform long term condition reviews, to supplement follow up telephone checks, or to reduce the time patients need to spend in the practice if they do need a face-to-face review.
ProScript Connect
We've successfully launched 1.25.8, this contained some new integration functionality between ProScript Connect and Centred Solutions.
